Heading north from Broome, our first
stop is on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River
for morning tea. On towards the historic town of Derby ,
stopping at the infamous Prison Boab Tree, including
a short tour of Derby and its Port.
Then it's onto the Gibb River Road with its giant
termite mounds, boab trees, and bird life heading for the spectacular
Windjana Gorge. Lunch alongside the escarpment
of Windjana, followed by a walk through this lovely gorge with your
guide, stopping to look at the flora & fauna along the way.
Here you will have the chance to spot a freshwater crocodile
or two.
Back in the vehicle and on to Tunnel Creek, a
750-metre cave through the Napier Range. On this
walk through Tunnel Creek we stop to look at ancient stalagmites
& stalactites, the endangered Ghost Bat, fish, Aboriginal
art and learn of the legend of Pigeon .
You'll have the chance for a refreshing swim in the Billabong. Back
out of the cave, time for a cool drink & nibbles.
Heading back to Broome, we stop along the way for our famous Fish
BBQ dinner.
